Joy Mathews.
Founder
Joy is the Principal behind MC Law and has been a powerful force within the condominium industry for over a decade. He is a vehement lawyer that focuses on governance issues and providing practical cost-effective solutions for his clients. He believes strongly in the power of community and compassion, frequently advising his clients on various solutions before “stepping in”.
“There are many reasons to engage a condominium lawyer, but sometimes it only takes a simple explanation for someone to understand what may seem like a foreign concept. Our goal at MC Law is to provide exceptional legal counsel and services on all condominium related matters, but also to provide the compassionate representation needed to navigate challenging mental health circumstances within condominium communities.”
Joy authored the Condominium Law course materials for the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario, previously in use for licensing property managers in Ontario and administered by the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
He has also written a number of articles and blogs on condominium law, some of which have been featured in industry publications or quoted in the Toronto Star or Law Times. In addition to his teaching work at George Brown College, Joy has been an invited guest instructor at Osgoode Hall Law School, Humber College, and the University of Toronto.
Holding not only a Juris Doctor but three other University degrees, education is something Joy holds dear, and so besides MC Law, he is an Adjunct Professor at York University, teaching Introduction to Law and recently appointed as the Chair of the Law Society of Ontario’s CPD Program for Condominium Law.
Previously engaged in international martial arts competition with Arnis (Filipino Stick Fighting) and teaching Shotokan-Ryu Karate-do, he brings the same competitive spirit to condominium lawyering – intensity, with measured focus.

Angie Tracey.
Associate Lawyer – B.A., J.D.
Angie’s passion for condominium governance ignited while fulfilling her role as an Administrator for the Eastern Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute. During her tenure, Angie was involved in numerous condominium community projects, including the arrangement and execution of CCI’s condominium director training courses for condo owners, and the Ottawa and Kingston Condominium Conference.
Throughout law school at the University of Windsor, Angie searched to find opportunities to immerse herself in jurisprudence. Her goal was to complement her condominium governance experiences and so she found a role providing legal services in Windsor-Essex County. The in-person clients she served had complicated issues and her duty was to resolve their problems in as little time as possible. Angie quickly demonstrated diligence and efficiency which subsequently catapulted her to the position of Student Supervisor to oversee several caseworkers at the Windsor Faculty of Law’s student-run legal clinic, Community Legal Aid. The clinic provided legal services to the large geographic area of Windsor-Essex county and included several areas of law such as criminal, employment, family, housing, elder law, consumer protection and small claims court matters.
After graduating from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 2022, she further honed her interests by articling at a boutique condominium law firm before bringing her sharp condominium mind and legal skills to MC Law.

Anita Mathai.

Anita brings a distinctive expertise to compassionate condominium lawyering that includes her educational background in law, but also in social work and community development. Anita began her educational journey graduating with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work, before entering law school. During law school she was awarded a Book Award for being at the top of her class in Elder Law prior to entering into a private practice.
Anita’s initial work started in the United States within the realm of Elder Law, Regulatory Compliance, Litigation Support, Medical Insurance and Foreclosures.
“I was predominantly working with seniors and families with low income. Often this demographic had trouble voicing their concerns and this is where I would step in. The experience was incredibly rewarding, and I was honored to advocate on their behalf.”
When MC Law faces a sensitive and difficult file, Anita’s expertise helps navigate the complicated regulatory schemes to assist in providing the most efficient, cost-effective, and most importantly, compassionate way forward.
